The Olive and Vine or O and V as many know it is a fun casual bar slash restaurant and cafe situated in the heart of Midhurst. They have a varied menu that offers something to suit everyone’s taste buds, from their mouth watering juicy burgers and classic chili beef nachos, to their sizzling fajitas and CDP prawns that you just gotta try!
They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner – so if it’s 9 am on Monday morning or 9 pm on a Thursday this is a place you just have to try. Whether you’re craving a seasonally flavoured bagel, searching for your morning caffeine fix or looking for the piece-de-residence dinner of all time then look no further than this well established local haunt.
The very first time I walked into this establishment I felt like I was picking up where I left off with an old friend. There is something so comforting about this place and trust me you’ll notice it as soon as you step over the threshold.

Recently relaunched, The Olive and Vine is now being led by two eager and creative minds, together with a passion to create their longstanding dream they are smashing it out of the ballpark with everything they do.
Located on North Street (right in the centre of Midhurst), this hip local eatery is definitely the answer to all your prayers. That is, if your prayers revolve around a proper mouth-watering morning feast. Which I’m pretty sure they do!
Staple breakfast items like a sarnie stack with sausage, bacon, hash browns, fried egg, cheddar cheese in a lightly toasted bread (£6), full English of streaky bacon, sausage, hash browns, fried egg, toast, mushrooms, tomato and black pudding (£7) and a ‘Build your own brekkie,’ are of course on menu. However, you are going to want to try the hipster brekkie consisting of guacamole on toast with a pot of hummus, vegan sausage, grilled tomato, mushroom and wilted spinach (£7). This dish is glorious and likely to turn even the most avid of meat eaters.
For those looking for something slightly lighter, The O and V have plenty of options for that too. You’ll find breakfast bagels with lashings of streaky bacon or sausage and a fried egg (£4.50) and salmon and scrambled egg on toast or bagel (£6.50).
You’d be hard pressed to beat the breakfast burger if you are in need of a blow out to get yourself back on track from the night before. Yes, I said a breakfast burger – beef patty topped with rashers of bacon, melted cheese, hash brown, and a fried egg on a brioche bun with a pot of baked beans and a side of skinny fries.
"Terrific supper at very short notice. Excellent friendly service. The food was beautifully cooked and in spite of a very busy evening came promptly."Richard
"My partner & I visited Midhurst a few weeks ago to explore the town & have a walk. We booked The Olive & Vine for breakfast & it beat our expectations! It looks quite small & dainty from the outside, but don't let that put you off as it's extremely cosy & quaint inside. We had the most delicious breakfast, I had the full English & my partner had the breakfast burger, absolutely lovely! We will definitely be going back soon to sample the roasts on a Sunday & the main menu during the week."Cat
I visited with my friend and my 8 month old son. They were able to provide a highchair and had baby changing facilities. We shared some tapas and both felt that the food, service and general atmosphere was outstanding. I will definitely be returning!Sharon

"Such a fantastic scheme. As a business we have an offer on with the Mustcard which has given us a platform to reach more local customers. But more than that I have been personally using my card to shop locally in Haslemere and Midhurst. Some of the discounts are brilliant. The best part for me is the fabulous write ups on local shops and pubs that I otherwise would not have known about! We have visited so many new places because of the Mustcard, it has opened up our local area. I love scrolling through the business listings and exploring all the new places! Supporting the local independents, what could be better than that! Thank you Mustcard."May and Grace Bridal, Haslemere

It's not just the value for money. It's the inspiration. I find myself quite frequently going onto the website to find places for me an my girlfriend to visit! so yeah, its a no-brainer. Do yourself a favour and treat yourself to a Mustcard. The bigger this gets, the more we all benefit."Luke Cullis

In today’s fast changing world the things we value are shifting equally as fast. The move away from chain style shops and departments stores to online ordering for example. Within this the Independent shops have become the marker, not only for defining our towns, by giving them identity and individuality, but by increasing the sense of community. Supporting Independent small and family businesses keeps our towns alive. The Mustcard is a superb, affordable way for us to say ‘YES, we are in. YES we value and support our town’s individuality, it’s personality and it’s people’. The additional twist is that, in so doing, these amazing shops and their owners reward Mustcard Members with special discounts!! It’s a true win win!My Midhurst Life
